Bristol Antifa benefit gig flyer

Freedom Of Movement in association with Bristol Antifa and Bristol Anarchist Black Cross are pleased to present an evening of punk and ska featuring

La Fraction (France)
Left For Dead (Kent)
Jakal (London)
Rejected (Bristol / Wales)

at The Croft, 117-119 Stokes Croft, Bristol BS1 3RW. 7-11pm, £6 entry, early arrival definitely recommended.

This event is raising money for the family of Ivan 'Bonecrusher' Khutorskoy, a Russian anti-fascist who was brutally murdered by nazis in November last year.

Ivan was a genuine hero, a committed fighter for the anti-fascist cause who paid the ultimate price for his beliefs. His attitude remains an inspiration to those of us who continue the struggle against the fascist threat. We are proud to hold this event in his memory and hope that you can join us too.

If you are unable to attend the gig, you can still make a donation for Ivan's family via Bristol Antifa (please make sure you state that the donation is for Ivan).

Solidarity Benefit Gig For Greek Activists

Bristol Antifa » 02 January 2009 » In Current Affairs, Gigs, Local News, World News » 1 Comment

We've received the following information from our friends in Bristol Anarchist Black Cross. Please read and show your support.

Greek solidarity gig and info

The rebellion by Greek youth, students, workers and migrant workers & immigrants that began on 6 December 2008, following the murder in Athens of a 15 year old youth by police officers, has generated a lot of interest across Bristol and the UK. There has also been some solidarity action in Bristol, graffiti and posters have been seen around town, and persons unknown have claimed on Bristol Indymedia four solidarity attacks on police stations/vehicles.

Bristol Solidarity gig 3 January from 8pm

A number of punk bands have organised a Greek solidarity/benefit gig for Greek prisoners & defendants at The Chelsea pub, on Chelsea Road, Easton BS5. Bands include Disorder and Belladonna. A visitor from Greece should be at the gig. Support the gig and donate generously! See also http://bristol.indymedia.org/article/689452

Greek defendants & prisoners

Unsurprisingly, in Greece the state has reacted with mass arrests, increased harassment of migrant workers and refugees, and police brutality. There has also been evidence of collusion between Greek cops and the neo-fascist groups, and of course the use of agent provocateurs.

What A Corker!

Bristol Antifa » 20 October 2008 » In Gigs, Local News » No Comments

The BlaggersWe would like to say a MASSIVE thanks to all of the bands, volunteers and punters who turned out for our benefit gig last Friday. The event was a sell-out, the bands gave it everything they had (and more!), the soundcrew kept it rocking along nicely, the crowd drank and danced from start to finish, and Bristol Antifa is considerably more financially secure as a result.

We also renewed some old acquaintances, and made some new ones too. In particular, we would like to thank those of you who offered to keep an eye out for fash activity in your own neighbourhoods – don't forget to let us know what you find out. The money and contacts should prove to be very useful over coming months as we step up our activities.

We hope that you all enjoyed yourselves as much as we did. Judging by the sweaty bodies and big smiles at the end of the night, it would certainly seem like it!

In The Spirit Of Cable Street

Bristol Antifa » 22 September 2008 » In Gigs, National News » No Comments

Antifa England have again organised the annual Cable Street anniversary benefit gig. Last year's event was a massive success, with hundreds of anti-fascists gathering to celebrate the victorious stand made by our forebearers in the face of the fascist threat. This year promises to be an equally joyous affair and features a top line-up of acts (see below), united together for the anti-fascist cause. Great music, great company and great beer guarantees a great night out.

We'll see you there!

Blaggers To Play Bristol Benefit Gig

Bristol Antifa » 09 August 2008 » In Gigs » 1 Comment

Bristol Antifa benefit gig flyer

We're really pleased to announce that legendary anti-fascist band The Blaggers will be playing a benefit gig for Bristol Antifa and No Borders this coming October. Support will come from a fine bunch of rabble-rousers in the forms of The Restarts, The Rejected and Spanner. There will also be DJ's spinning radical rebel tunes in between to keep you fully entertained.

For those that don't know of them, The Blaggers mix an uncompromising working class attitude with ska, punk, rap and dance music to create an atmosphere and experience that's second to none. If this lot don't make you get up and shake your thang, we'd suggest that you check yourself for a pulse.

Apart from the Rebellion Festival (which has already been and gone), this is The Blaggers' only UK gig this year. When you add in the other top-notch acts on the bill, this event is guaranteed to be a stormer. We'd definitely recommend early arrival.

If you want to help us out, you can download the above poster and matching flyers for printing and photocopying. Please spread the word, and we'll see you there!

Where: The Attic, Stokes Croft, Bristol BS1 3PR
When: Friday 17th October 2008, 8pm – 2am
